Raising Safety Awareness for Every Arborist

SCA has a long history of fundraising for the greater good of arborists. The RakeMaster Challenge fundraiser was a traditional part of the International Tree Climbing Championship at the Annual ISA Conference and Trade Show. Below are some photos from our last RakeMaster Challenge in 2008.

The proceeds from this event went to the Safe Arborist Fund. The purpose of the Safe Arborist Fund is to provide research grants supporting training and the techniques and equipment that arborists use in climbing, rigging, and working on trees, as well as the means of identifying potential hazards, to provide a safer working environment. For more on the fund and other tree-related grant programs, visit http://www.treefund.org/grants_scholarships.htm..

This year, we are trying something new. Stay tuned for details on the Arbor Thunder Ride - a motorcycle drive for the trees - as SCA continues to support the Safe Arborist Fund in an on-going effort to bridge tree-related research and in the field applications focusing on residential and commercial arboriculture.
