RakeMaster Challenge St. Louis, MO 2008

The RakeMaster Challenge fundraiser happens during the International Tree Climbing Championship at the Annual ISA Conference and Trade Show.

The proceeds from the event go to the Safe Arborist Fund. The purpose of the Safe Arborist Fund is to provide research grants supporting training and the techniques and equipment that arborists using in climbing, rigging and working on trees; and the means of identifying potential hazards, to provide a safer working environment. For more on the fund and other tree-related grant programs, visit http://www.treefund.org/grants/Grants.aspx.

SCA supports the Safe Arborist Fund in an on-going effort to bridge tree-related research and in the field applications focusing on residential and commercial arboriculture.

Competition was fierce during the final RakeMaster Challenge.

Team work proved to be very beneficial in the tie-breaker round.

The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for competition.

This year’s challenge drew quite a crowd!

New England Chapter’s Richard Herfurth rakes right by the promotional poster for next year’s conference, which his chapter is hosting.

New England Chapter’s “Lobster Heads” win the challenge! This means they will have to defend their title on home ground territory next year.
